A sequel run to A Petty Nuzlocke Challenge: LeafGreen Edition
It's been three years since LOCKE's adventures in Kanto and she's ready to take on Johto! A new rival and old enemies emerge as well as a rumor of a mysterious figure on Mt. Silver referred to as "RED".
Will LOCKE survive this league?
P R O G R E S S
THE NUZLOCKE RUN IS COMPLETE IN-GAME. The run goes through Kanto- RED is the final boss of the run.
I WILL be finishing this comic all the way through no matter what. You can at least take confidence in knowing that. :)
I've just been INCREDIBLY busy irl-- my job has boosted my scheduled hours per week from like, 15 to 30 and so I have to contend with that as well as a myriad of other distractions in my daily life. It can be quite stressful-- and while this is a stress relieving activity, It's not as if I were getting paid or my job (sadly)
It's not that I DON'T want to update or that I like to leave you guys hanging, it's just that I really am very busy. :(
When I did my nuzlocke of heartgold, I too caught a spinarak, and it actually turned out to be a pretty good team member. Somehow, it lasted all the way through the E4, killed lance's dragonite, but died to the charizard.
On your original leaf green site, can you put a link to this heart gold site in the Links section? That would be really amazing for me cause my browser always points me there (Been reading since before the safari zone, so the web history... yeah...)
The comic is not dead, it is just very very very slow. I thought for a while that it was dead, but it merely moves at a snail's pace, which can create the illusion of death.
Along the same lines, Petty, are you really still grinding for RED? Your status has been such for something like six months now. Even at a rate of one group level per day, you should've been ready to beat him down with a level 100 team ages ago.
Hey Petty! I was rereading the LG comics, and got all the way to this one! Anyway, I started my own Nuzlocke challenge, just because I read this comic! It seems fun!
Anyway, I started one in SoulSilver and Platinum~ I got farther in SoulSilver... I love walking with my Pokemon. >_>
@Istanbul: That's assuming she has the time to level grind every day, or that she can level the whole team by one each time she does. In the Johto remakes, once you get to a certain level you're miles above anything you'll find in the wild or that the trainers will have, for the most part, so it takes much longer to level up, and if you don't have a great deal of time, as Petty seems not, then it will take longer.
Alternately, she just forgot to update it. You know. Whichever.
@Captain LeBubbles: Believe me, I know all about how long it takes to level up past a certain point in HG/SS. That was my first completed Nuzlocke, after all. The trick I used was to rely on Hoenn Sound and get a couple of Zigzagoons (which I then trained up to be Linoones), and they sat in the background while I ground. They'd occasionally find Rare Candies, which sped things up immeasurably. (Also, I was not using the 'no dupes' optional rule, so inb4 calls of 'hax!'.)
Even so, six months is a shockingly long time. I suspect she forgot to update, hence the reminder.
Nuzlocke comic guidelines
So guys, I am planning on making a nuzlocke comic. But I was thinking of adding one rule, like if your starter faints, you lose the challenge. Because I mean would anyone really be interested in continuing the comic if they see the starter, the pokemon the readers are first introduced to and start growing attached to, die? Thoughts?
1. If pokemon faints, it's dead. Release it.
2. You can only catch one pokemon per route and it must be the first one you see that HASN'T been registered in the dex (no dupe clause).
3. No rare candies or capturing legendaries.
4. (Maybe) nuzlocke is failed if the starter dies or you run out of pokemon
And I forgot to mention, I'll be doing the nuzlocke run all the way through before I start drawing the comic. I'm doing Emerald, but I only defeated the first gym and then May battled me and I lost my Mudkip, Whismur, Poochyena, Taillow and Wingull to her. I should have gotten potions before battling her. . . The only pokemon I have left now are Magikarp and Marill. Would anyone really be interested in reading this if I continue? My starter already died very early without a chance for anyone who will read this to get attached to it.
@pikachu80707: Hate to break it to you, but considering what's left you have access to in Emerald, you're pretty much screwed. You can only get two more Pokemon (one if you don't get the old rod or end up with a dup) and chances are, you'll be stuck with a poor team against Brawly. Long story short, might as well start over
@ThunderStarf: i dont think she wouldnt have looked up his levels online. red's supposed to be around the mid to late 90s with his pokemon. it should only take about 3-4 months at the most.
but anyways this stupid argument doesnt even matter. im just sad that ive found a comic that updates slower than boxer hockey :(
Hey, Petty! I just read the entire LeafGreen run through (plus videos) and read through what you have of HeartGold and I have loved EVERY minute of it! It probably only took me a couple hours to get through it all but it was totally worth it!
Keep up the good work! Hope you post another soon!
Ive read your first nuzlock, watched all the animations, and started reading this one. Ive cryed almost everytime someone died, and i just thought id say that you should definatly make more of these. amazing...
Not gonna let this go
Hi everybody, here's an italian speaking. I ended up on this site, i read both petty's nuzlocke challenge and thanks to it I started my own nuzlocke in SoulSilver. I also read the latest comments on this page: personally, i don't care how much time petty's gonna take to post again, i am sure it's worth for it. If you really like her work, you're gonna let her take her time to make this nuzlocke more amazing that already is. Let's just support her: keep asking for new post won't make her post sooner.
Hope that my post it's comprehensible and that i didn't make big grammar mistakes!
Petty, do not give up or i will come wherever you are and i kill you. Oh, just joking XD
Well. Yeah, pretty much this. Also, very well said, I would not have guessed English wasn't your first language, so go you!
Also, Petty, she's right, we love this comic, and I for one will be delighted for a new update whenever that may be :)
(Also, I started a nuzlocke run because of this comic too-- I wonder how many of us there are.)
@ Laura I agree athousand fold the first series was an emotional rollercoaster and I loved every minute of it. Petty if you read this know that no matter how long it takes I will read your work. Here's hopeing you get best comic 2012. C U SOON ;)
I love the series' but this wait is kinda wearing on me... I'd love to at least know if there will actually be any more. It would have been kinda nice to at least know that she was done with it... just a simple 'Sorry guys, no more" would have been better than the possibility that we could maybe at some point at a undetermined time anytime in the future get a comic which may or may not actually happen...
